Meet Michael

Why Am I Running-

  1. I care about  and believe in the City of Minneapolis, but I am concerned about its current path. I am running to provide the experienced leadership the City needs. Right now the City Council is run by inexperienced activists.
  2. Minneapolis residents deserve safe, prospering neighborhoods and schools.

More About Me-

I care about the future of Minneapolis and its people and am concerned about the leadership of the current City Council. Minneapolis has been and will continue to be a great place to live as long as the right decisions are made by our City leadership. It is for this reason that I decided to run for Council during this critical time for our City. I was in Royal Oak, Michigan to Cherie and Alan Baskins.  I was a joyful kid that liked to laugh and run around my suburban Detroit neighborhood with friends late into the evening. I graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University and started my career in Automotive Design. I was active politically in Michigan, taking on a role with Voters Not Politicians to end the political gerrymandering in the state by Ballot Initiative in 2018. In 2019, my work brought me to Minneapolis where I started as an engineer with Polaris designing off-road vehicles. Immediately, I fell in love with the city of Minneapolis and the State of Minnesota. I have always felt the deep sense of community and civic pride held by Minneapolis residents and want to contribute to the future prosperity of the city.  I am a lifelong Democrat and feel so privileged to make Minnesota home. I am ready and able to advocate for Ward 2 on the City Council.
